Are you interested in learning more about the gaits of the Icelandic horse?
In addition to watching videos on our website, we recommend attending an Icelandic horse competition. Seeing these horses in action firsthand is the best way to learn more about what the Icelandic horse is capable of. You may even have the chance to see ones of our members competing!
Locally, Ontario hosts many fairs during the summer and fall. Some of these fairs feature gaited horse competitions where you are bound to see the Icelandic horse competing. The International Federation of Icelandic Horse Associations (FEIF) is also great resource for competitions taking place all over the world. The next World Championships take place in Berlin in 2019.
Where is our favourite place to see an Icelandic horse competing? Iceland of course! Every 2 years, Iceland hosts Landsmot – The National Icelandic Horse Competition.
