The Ontario Icelandic Horse Association (OIHA)

Founded in 2001 by a passionate group of Icelandic horse enthusiasts, the OIHA continues to flourish and grow today. We take pride in promoting these exceptional horses, preserving their unique traits and health, and, above all, cherishing the camaraderie that comes with sharing a common interest. Falling in love with the Icelandic horse is inevitable once you get to know this remarkable and friendly breed. You don't need to own or ride an Icelandic horse to reap the many social and physical benefits our group offers.

Our Objectives

  1. To introduce and promote the Icelandic horse breed in Ontario.
  2. To organize and promote events such as shows, demonstrations, instruction clinics, group trail rides and social activities for Association members, for fun and educational purposes.
  3. To promote the interests and well-being of the Icelandic horse and the OIHA, in ways that are agreeable to the membership.
  4. To provide advisory assistance to Icelandic horse enthusiasts, riders, owners and breeders.
  5. To regularly inform our members of Association news and upcoming events/activities, through our Quarterly Newsletter and other means of communication

OIHA is not limited to residents of Ontario.
Anyone who is interested can join the Association.
